Biography Aurelia Mbokazi

Aurelia Mbokazi’s first taste of journalism was in 1996 in the fast paced Saturday Star and Sunday Independent joint newsroom. She has been a journalist and editor for newspapers and magazines and digital platforms, these include The Star,  True Love and Destiny,  Y-Age and African Leader magazines. She is currently a freelance journalist and also consults as development communications specialist.  An avid reader, she is passionate about African authors, her all-time go-to books are:

Nervous Conditions by Tsitsi Dangarembga, Maru by Bessie Head, Half of A Yello Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Things Fall Apart by  Chinua Achebe and Quiet violence of dreams by Sello K Duiker.
